Artist Spotlight – Lord Swan3x

Lord Swan3x, a young man whose fan base has grown rapidly and is constantly on the ball with his vicious machine gun synths and hard hitting drops.  Appearing on the scene at a similar time with Dec3mber, he has grown dramatically so far this year, releasing an EP and has done several collaborations with names such as Code:Pandorum, Dec3mber and Soberts.

His musical craft and design has made him almost a permanent name now in the hard hitting dubstep genre, still relatively unknown however, with only 5,000 SoundCloud followers, his main source of release.

A recently released free track through EDM.com going by the name “Threefold” with fellow dubstep produces Dec3mber and Tempest has given him a wider scope, more than likely spreading his music to a wider audience and increasing his fan base. This track combines the melodic sounds of Dec3mber, the deep bass and wobble sounds of Tempest and the hard hitting snares and build ups of the man in question, Lord Swan3x.

What we have to look forward to in the future is a plethora of new tracks, including a track soon to be released called “Temple of the Night Sun” featuring the one and only Messinian, who has previously collaborated with big names such as Excision.  Then also a VIP of Swan3x’s collab with Squnto known as “Impressive” and notably a remix of Mantis’ track “Fumes”.

It must be remembered that the true fans appreciate the hard work of producers that still create hard hitting machine-gun dubstep.  His fan base is still growing in a music scene where Future and Deep House are very much dominating at the moment.  However, from the claims last year that “Dubstep is Dead”, it is very much obvious that dubstep is not dead, one could said it has been resurrected from the past and is making a come back.  It is hard to tell whether artists like Swan3x and Dec3mber can have such an impact that dubstep makes a major impact once again, but with support from bigger names, including Firepower Records, we are more than likely going to hear more dubstep.

I must warn you though, that Lord Swan3x’s music is not to everyone’s likeness.  There are several types of dubstep, melodic, chill etc.  This is not that.  This is very heavy and unique.  A combination of melody and hard hitting bass is the perfect combination.  It may be a matter of time before he ventures down that path.
