Tracks of the Week #3

It’s that time of the week again where I cover the best tracks that have come to my attention in my opinion.  This week is full of future house, along with a bit of dubstep and electro.  It is becoming obvious that future house is a continually growing genre and is becoming bigger by the week. But without further ado, let’s get into the top tracks of the week.

Soberts – Public Service

Soberts was featured earlier this week in the Artist Spotlight and to top off this week, he released a free tune today called Public Service.  This track was used in the DUB vs DUB standoff between himself and Crowell, although he forfeited.  The primary sound of this track that will jump out at you as soon as the bassline hits is the wonky bass and wobbles which make this track what it is.  Definitely a track for people with specific taste, but nevertheless a heavy track!

LiTek & Felix Oslo – Where

Premiered on Sick & Sound, promoters of upcoming future house producers, another track available for free download combines deep basslines with vibrant melody and hard hitting synths which keep the listener entertained.  It’s not one of the best tracks I’ve heard this week, but it definitely deserves a place on this list.  These artists were completely unknown to me as well, LiTek and Felix Oslo hailing from Manchester, UK and currently have a small fan base. Perhaps this premiere will give them some more success.

Timmy Trumpet – Freaks (Vato Gonzalez Remix)

A completely fresh and original official remix from Vato Gonzalez, giving his take on Timmy Trumpet’s track “Freaks”. The first time I heard this I had to tell somebody about it, it’s a really funky track and has been supported by some big names, including Bingo Players and David Guetta (although we shouldn’t care what Guetta’s opinion is, he isn’t a real DJ).  Take a listen below, it’s well worth it.

Habstrakt – Gimme feat. Badjokes

A new track by Habstrakt on Never Say Die featuring Badjokes. Classed as Bass House, but it certainly has an element of deep and future house to it, it is another interesting turn in Habstrakt’s career, constantly keeping the fans on their toes with a variety of different genres being created.  My favourite part is definitely the build up to the drops, the bassline itself misses an element of creativity in my opinion with the same part repeated several times, but either way still an enjoyable track.

Levela – Gassed (Limited Remix)

The already hard hitting drum and bass producer Levela is remixed by Limited for the drumstep remix, which is of the highest quality.  Maintaining the gritty sound of Levela, adding in saw synths, but maintaining that fast pace and melody that makes a good drumstep track. Definitely one to be played loud.

Samptone – Flamethrower

The last track that I am covering here is a heavy electro track with quite excellent percussion and a steady beat with those traditional heavy electro bass sounds. There is a retro feel to the track, taking the listener back to the 90s with the sounds he has produced.  It is excellent production in my opinion, definitely providing a new feel to electro music which has been quite disappointing as of late. Samptone, who is from Ukraine, does not only dabble in electro music, he creates some excellent dubstep as well, check out his profile for some new music!

A special feature as he has already been mentioned: Samptone – Madman

Both of these tracks are available for free download as well, so take your opportunity while you can!

Hope you find some new music here from this week!

Thanks,

DB
